Your Superannuation investments
We provide much more information on investments, investment classes and types of return in the Investment module.
It is important to review your investment options and understand where the money is invested. And importantly, whether this suits your investment needs and goals and reflects the risk you are willing to take with your investment portfolio.
Also, it is important to remember that superannuation is not an investment. It is purely a vehicle in which to hold investments. Accordingly, the risk undertaken within your super fund is dependent upon the type of asset classes a member invests into, not the superannuation structure itself.
In the case of self-managed superannuation funds where a broader range of investment options exist, it is important that you consider seeking advice from your financial adviser to help ensure that you establish an appropriate investment portfolio.
Please note: As part of the Your Future, Your Super’ legislation - to address underperformance in superannuation, from 1 July 2021 annual performance tests requirements will apply to MySuper products. In addition, from 1 July 2022 annual performance tests will apply to other super funds as well.
