7 Building Your Team
Financial interdependence
Regardless of your position in this chain, in your workplace - the employer, employees and clients all co-exist in a financially interdependent relationship.
Henry Ford reportedly once said that “the employer doesn’t pay the wages, the clients do. The employer simply handles the money.”
Beyond employment, even when you have built up your investments, and these investments provide all of your required income, there continues to be many lines of interdependency.
For example, let’s say you invest in real estate, you may be dependent on tenants paying rent. The tenants are likely to be dependent on their employment and money management so they can afford to pay rent.
You may be dependent on your insurance policies, and the insurer, to cover damages should the tenant damage the premises. And the insurer is dependent upon numerous people and processes, and the lines of dependency continues.
