Palliative Care
Types of Services
Palliative care neither hastens nor delays death; it seeks to allow you and your family to focus on making the most of the time remaining, whilst you receive the professional care and support that you need during this difficult stage in your life.
Palliative care can be provided in a range of settings, such as at home, in private or public hospitals, in a hospice, palliative care units or a residential aged care facility.
Palliative care may often involve a multidisciplinary team. For example, general practitioners, nurses, specialists, allied health professionals and social workers. As such, the types of services offered by palliative care may vary, due to your individual needs and circumstances.
