Enduring guardianship
An enduring guardianship is a role that generally gives someone legal authority to make medical and life decisions on your behalf.
In some states/territories and in some instances this role may be separately authorised under an enduring power of attorney (medical treatment) and/or enduring guardianship.
For example, the attorney may authorise doctors to undertake certain medical procedures, which can include decisions such as ceasing life support or choose an aged care facility.
An enduring guardian doesn't have access to your finances.
