Palliative Care
Types of Services
When developing an appropriate palliative care plan several factors may be considered. For example, the nature and level of your health and support needs; your existing support network and coping skills; and, your preferences and choices for care and support.
With an appropriate palliative care plan constructed, in consultation with your multidisciplinary team and family members, the services provided may include:
- The relief of pain and other symptoms associated with your life-limiting or terminal illness.
- Help with general domestic duties, personal hygiene, continence management, nursing care and pressure-area care, as well as carer support.
- Mobility and dexterity aids where required.
- Psychological and spiritual support for you and your family throughout the palliative care process.
