Aged Care – Carer Financial Assistance

Being a carer for someone can often be a demanding role. It’s not uncommon for carers to experience financial difficulties when trying to manage caring commitments with work, study and/or training.

The Government recognises this challenge and subsequently offers several types of financial assistance to eligible carers to help support them in their role.

Please note: We will discuss these financial assistance measures in the context of aged care. As such, it is important to understand that other conditions may apply depending on your individual circumstances.

For more information on eligibility, payment rates, commencing a claim or managing your payment (e.g. a change in circumstances), consult with the Department of Human Services (Services Australia).
