Home Care Package

Organising Services

Once you have received the outcome of your ACAT (or ACAS) assessment, and been deemed eligible for a Home Care Package, you will receive an approval letter from My Aged Care setting out the level of home care you are approved to receive and be placed in a national priority queue.

The position that you hold within the national priority queue is based on several factors:

  • The level of care you require e.g. Home Care Level 1–4;
  • Your current circumstances; and,
  • The time you have spent waiting for care.

Once you have reached the top of the national priority queue, My Aged Care, a section of the Government’s Department of Health, will send you a letter outlining a Home Care Package (with its own unique package referral code) relevant to your specific needs.
